Essence Music Festival 2009.

The 15th Anniversary of the Essence Music Festival will be celebrated this summer in New Orleans. The event will take place July 3rd- July 5th. Each night, there will be amazing performances from several talented performers. Ledisi to release Christmas album

For me Christmas came early.  One of the best performers touring right now, has been working on a Christmas album.  It was released this week.  Five of the twelve tracks are original.  The album sounds great.  It contains the classics, and it may get it's place right up there with the Temptation's album.  I will be dropping some classic albums when it's gets closer to the season.  If you're a Ledisi fan, then it won't seem odd at all to listen to a Christmas album in September.  It's available at Amazon.

Ledisi- Lost & Found(2007)

Ledisi has to be one of the best "underground" soul artists around right now. She is a former member of a group called Anibade, and the group released their first album, Soulsinger, in 2000. Eventually, Ledisi went solo and released her album, Feeling Orange but Sometimes Blue, independently in 2002. In 2007, she was signed to Verve, and she released this album. The song "Alright" has been getting a lot of radio play, and she was even nominated for two Grammy's this year. I'm glad to see that she's getting some of the attention that she deserves. Enjoy.
